Manière de Voir is a UK streetwear clothing brand founded in 2013 by Reece Wabara, a former Manchester City football player.
How did his venture into fashion start?
Starting his career in English football, Wabara played for Premier League club Manchester City, as well as having loan spells with Ipswich, Oldham, and Blackpool, and representing England at the U20 international level.
In 2013, he took a leap of faith and launched his fashion brand, Manière de Voir. Initially focusing on tracksuits, t-shirts, and hoodies, Wabara’s brand quickly gained traction.
Feeling his football career wasn’t progressing as desired, and driven by a desire to achieve more, Wabara saved up and invested £15,000 after an inspirational conversation with his father and advice from his schoolmate Lewis Morgan, who founded Gymshark.
Now, a decade later, the company boasts an annual turnover of £34.7 million, with endorsements from sports stars like Raheem Sterling and Anthony Joshua.
Recently, the brand opened its first store, a 5,189 sq ft retail space at 354 Oxford Street, above Bond Street Tube station.
Wabara attributes his success to resilience. Football taught him to handle adversity, and he carries that mindset into his business endeavors. He faces challenges head-on, believing he can find solutions to most problems.
