Once that is completed get a master degree in clinical psychology, social work as most positions specifically in clinical psychology require a master’s degree. 
  2. Gain relevant experience: Before you complete your studies ensure that you have relevant work experience. Examples could be completing summer internships or practicum experiences to get hands-on-hands experience. 
  3. Obtain licensing: Each specialist has their own specific required licensing, but the 2 fundamentals you need are: 
  • National Accreditation Board (NAB): Ghana’s National Accreditation Board oversees the accreditation of educational programs. Ensure that your academic program is recognized by NAB.
  • Ghana Psychological Council: Contact the Ghana Psychological Council to inquire about the specific licensing requirements for psychologists and therapists in the country.
  1. Consider Specialization: Depending on your career goals, you may choose to specialize in a specific area of therapy, such as marriage and family therapy, clinical psychology, or school counseling.
