Who is Scott Mills?

Mills is an established presenter and DJ with over two decades of experience working in broadcast media. He is widely known for his work with the BBC, amongst other career-defining moments. These moments include interviewing Robbie Williams at the height of his career following his exit from Take That, presenting for the British Forces abroad and more.

However, in recent years, Mill’s career has continued to spiral with uncertainty. Following serious sexual assault allegations against him.

The details

Mills’ final broadcast with the BBC aired on Tuesday, 24th March. Since then, a source from the BBC addressed the matter:

“While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.”

What message does this send to teenage boys?

This case was reported to have taken place between 1997 and 2000. Thus, it has been almost 30 years since the incident occurred, and the Met Police has only now found solid evidence. Unfortunately, cases like this are more common than they should be.

Too often, acts of sexual violence are inflicted on young adults, and many times by people in positions of power. Mills’ case is another example of how people with a certain status often avoid repercussions.

Unfortunately, this sends a message to the younger generation that they’re less likely to receive justice. However, while it has taken a long time, more importantly, Mills has been held accountable for his actions. Now jobless and with the Police still gathering evidence, justice isn’t far from being served.
