A look behind the best outfits at the 30th anniversary of the Music of Black Origin (Mobo) Awards.
This year, the Music of Black Origin (Mobo) Awards celebrates its 30th anniversary. In light of that, celebrities from all around the world flew out to Manchester, United Kingdom (UK), to join in on the celebrations. With huge names such as Pharrell Williams, Eve, Slick Rick and others making appearances.
Award season is still flying, and so far, there have been several memorable looks across the board. Whether it be Wunmi Mosaku at the Oscars, Teyana Taylor at the Baftas, or Rosalia at the Brits.
This time around, we’re taking a moment for the iconic looks that stole the night at the UK’s Mobo Awards. Take a look!
Alesha Dixon

Alesha Dixon. The UK’s princess of garage. Known for hit singles “All I Want” and “Roll On” in the girl band Mis-Teeq, she turned up to this year’s Mobos alongside Bashy to present the ‘Song of the Year’ Award. Wearing an effortless suitdress and silver stilettos, the singer mastered the look of smart yet thrilling, with a waist-hugging suit jacket on top and an elegant ruffled skirt on the bottom half.
ALT BLK ERA

Representing the alternative category with effortless glamour were sister duo ALT BLK ERA. Nyrobi, (left) wearing a floor-length white gown, kitted out with a stunning corset. While Chaya (right) stuns in another floor-length offering, however wearing all Black. Together, the sisters bring out an exciting thrill to the Mobo Awards with gothic looks sure to turn some heads. Complimenting one another with sharp eye looks, together, the sister duo are back with another stunning appearance at the Mobo Awards. Following their ‘Best Alternative Act’ win in 2025.
Chip

Coming out of a partial music retirement was one of the founding fathers of grime, Chip. Not only did the rapper make an appearance at last night’s Mobo Awards, but he performed and took home the ‘Best Grime Act’ Award. Walking out head-to-toe in Casablanca, the North London rapper was suited to the 9s for a memorable performance. Chip is no stranger to this award show and officially won the same title in 2008. Then ’09, and up until now, 2016.
Nile Rogers

A visionary of the arts, Nile Rodgers (not that he needs the introduction), dressed to impress as per usual on the night of the Mobo Awards 30th anniversary. Wearing a brown tailored suit with delicately threaded embroidery, and accessorised with a pearl necklace, bedazzled glasses and a bandana, Rodgers turned up with a suave look. A gentle reminder that you might be able to buy clothes, but you can’t buy swag. In the evening, the American songwriter presented the ‘Global Songwriter’ Award to Pharrell Williams.
Slick Rick

You could say that the UK and United States’ king of Hip Hop, Slick Rick, made something of a statement at the 2026 Mobo Awards. Blinged out with a giant gold-encrusted chain and a gold-encrusted custom Jacob & Co. watch, it’s fair to say, his outfit alone probably accumulated the ticket costs of the entire venue. Wearing a luxurious cream suit jacket and a pair of simple black trousers, Rick’s outfit this year was certainly amplified by the jewelry he flexed. Including a matching eye patch and ring. Each accessory complemented the other. And his performance with Estelle was a moment to remember.
Shansseea

Shanssea, stunned in a change of costume from her entrance. Later turning up in a gorgeous silver two-piece for an outstanding performance. Playing her hit single “Shake It To The Max” and others, the singer received a standing ovation and roars of cheers from the audience. This striking costume change complemented her backup dancers and made the singer stand out from the crowd during her solo moment on a podium in the middle of the room.

The Mobos are all about celebrating amazing talent. And this year, for its 30th anniversary, attendees went above and beyond, as they turned out looks that could kill. For any young adult with an eye for fashion, award-winning shoes like this are dynamite. They’re a first look at outfits to take inspiration from when making your own.
While there are huge brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and others turning out looks for these hot celebrities. There’s still space for the younger generation to bank themselves major commissions for these types of events. After all, Law Roach didn’t bank Zendaya when he was already famous!
