Its Official…Donald Trump is the 47th USA President!

It’s a celebration for the Republican Party, as they have secured the White House!!

Donald Trump has taken home the crown, winning a historic second term as President of the United States. He won four of the key battleground swing states, hours after polling stations shut their doors on election day. Trump’s victory ultimately led to the defeat of current Vice President and rival, Kamala Harris.

But how did Trump manage to take home the crown?

The Republican presidential candidate surpassed the Electoral College’s critical threshold of 270 votes after winning the swing state of Wisconsin.

Additionally, he dominated many other important swing states. CBS reported him winning Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The final count later confirmed that Trump won three out of the five electoral votes in the state of Nebraska. Harris managed to secure only one electoral vote. Other swing states—Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada—were determined to be too close to call a winner.

Moreover, it came as no surprise that Trump won over many conservative territories. Examples include Florida, Idaho, Alabama, and Tennessee. Harris, on the other hand, dominated heavily liberal-leaning states, including New York, California, Washington, and Virginia.

Trump Victory Speech

“We overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible,” Trump stated.

“Every single day I will be fighting for you, and with every breath in my body, I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe, and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age of America,” he said.

“We’re going to help our country heal, help our country heal,” Trump added.

Republicans across the United States reacted with joy to the news of Trump winning the election. Many claimed that the reason for Trump’s victory is simple: voters are more informed and know better today than they did four years ago.

“Voters have really short memories,” said Alex Conant, a Republican strategist who helped lead Senator Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign in 2016. “And while I think everyone is appalled by what happened on January 6, they’re also appalled by what they have to pay for eggs today. People think about inflation every single day when they’re buying gas, when they’re going to the grocery store.”

This is a Historic Win for Trump

Not only is Trump’s victory a significant because he was elected president. But also because his win marks a series of historic firsts. These include:

  • At 78 he is the oldest person to claim presidency in USA history.
  • For the first time in 132 years since Grover Cleveland, he is the first to serve two nonconsecutive terms in office.
  • This campaign will likely be remembered as the most expensive presidential race in US history. This thus adds to his rise to stardom.
  • The first president, both current and former, to be convicted of crimes. He was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
  • He is the first twice-impeached president to ever win back the White House, narrowly avoiding conviction in the Senate.
  • It’s not everyday you hear your president is facing criminal charges ! Well, Trump the first president to take office while fending off criminal charges in multiple active federal and state cases.

So it really is a day of wins for Trump!

Kamala Harris Reacts to Her Loss

So you may be left wondering, what does Kamala Harris have to say about all this?

Well, we are still waiting on the vice president to respond to the news. As we can expect, this must be devastating for her. But let’s take some time to congratulate her, her team, and her campaign nonetheless.

The mood was hopeful at the Harris campaign’s election night watch party in Washington, DC. When the first batch of results came in, huge crowds of supporters cheered, danced, and sang along to music.

But as the night continued, the celebratory energy slowly began to wane. Eventually, campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond came on stage to inform Harris supporters that the vice president would not be making an appearance.

The crowd soon after began to disperse. The election resulted in Harris securing 224 Electoral College votes.

Conclusion

Well, after years of campaigning and what seemed like a long anticipated wait, Trump is officially the next president of the United States of America. This truly has been an iconic, legendary election. What was the tightest race led to the historic win of Donald Trump.
