Cephas Williams is a creative entrepreneur, renowned for founding and photographing the groundbreaking 56 Black Men campaign (2018) and the Portrait of Black Britain (2021).
The primary goal of the campaign was to shift the narrative surrounding black men in the media, fostering broader and more inclusive conversations.
These campaigns have garnered attention from both local and global audiences, accumulating millions of interactions and engagements across various social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Additionally, his work has been featured in prominent publications such as The Guardian, The Metro, Sky News, and BBC.
In 2017, leveraging his degree in Architecture, Cephas established Drummer Boy Studios to promote equality among ethnic groups by reshaping the narrative.
Merging his passion for architecture and community, he aimed to create physical spaces that catered to those affected by gentrification. The studio served as a creative hub, providing workspace and facilities conducive to growth, innovation, and collaboration for individuals interested in the creative sector, spanning industries such as Music, Film, Media, Enterprise, Fashion, and Gaming.
He has been an influential figure in the fight against Racism in Britain
More recently, Cephas founded the Black British Network (BBN), an organization dedicated to dismantling systemic racism in the UK and advancing equality for Black people. Since its inception, BBN has garnered support from over 45 CEOs/Executives and 17 leading organizations in the UK, including Tesco, Clear Channel, Accenture, The Co-op Group, Sainsbury’s, and many more.
Currently, Cephas is focused on implementing his vision for change through the Black British Network, aiming for tangible progress in the Black British conversation. He envisions the Black community uniting to achieve lasting and impactful change.
